4 success Case Studies that Won our Hearts

Look at how these 4 famous brands came up with brilliant digital marketing campaigns in 2018 for regular sales, special sales and new product launches.

We are almost at the end of the year, and everyone you know is taking a step back and making an assessment of how the year went. Since you have begun to read this article, we assume you have more than a passing interest in digital marketing. And we also assume that you are keen to know about the year that just went by, and how digital marketers fared. Let us take a look at four of the best digital marketing campaigns this year.

Adidas

This year saw Adidas – who is anyway known for its great marketing campaigns using celebrities – take their digital marketing campaign to great heights of engagement. They invited all 30000 participants of this year’s Boston Marathon to make their own personal videos of the experience. These participants were provided with racing bibs (the bit where their numbers are displayed on the front of their running vests) which had tracking chips embedded. This allowed Adidas to generate great live content for the videos, and also provide great metrics about the progress of the participants.

Nike

Where Adidas is there, can Nike be far behind? This year also saw Nike come up with a brilliant digital marketing campaign. This was aligned to the launch of a new product called Epic React. Nike used all of its available channels like its website, its mobile app, all its social media profiles, and also specially released videos. All of the user/customer/prospect touch points smoothly transitioned to a specially designed landing page of the new product. The numbers cannot be completely attributed solely to the Epic React digital marketing campaign; but it can’t be denied that it did have some part to play in the 7% increase in market share this year.

Echo

Echo is a voice assistant from Amazon. While designing a high profile marketing campaign for Echo, Amazon realized that in the world of digital marketing, there is a lot of value provided by influencers. That is why they roped in a large number of celebrities to endorse this power packed yet humorous campaign. It went on to get 47 million views in the year, and of course went viral.

Swarovski

This one is not 2018 strictly, but it occurred in the Christmas season of 2017, so we thought of including it here. They added TV advertising to their digital marketing campaign which went with the hashtag #BrillianceForAll. Because China as a huge market can’t be ignored, Swarovski also worked around the banning of Whatsapp and Facebook in that country. They tied up with WeChat, which is China’s equivalent of Whatsapp. They ran the campaign during The Advent season (starting from the fourth Sunday before Christmas). The campaign had an Advent Calendar with 24 boxes for the 24 odd days, of which 3 boxes had items with normal pricing, while the remaining 21 boxes had gifts which were completely free. The overall package was sold at just $458 apiece.
